Apple Supplier TSMC is Preparing to produce 3nm chips in the second half of 2022. According to a new report form DigiTimes, the supplier will start production of 4nm chips. This will start in coming months.

As Apple already booked the initial capacity of TSMC’s 4nm chip production for future Macs. And Now recently Apple ordered TSMC to begin production of the A15 chip for the upcoming iPhone 13, based on an enhanced 5nm process.

TSMC stating that the new 3nm chip process will offer minimum 15% performance boost, with minimum 30% improved energy efficiency. And will enter mass production late next year.

TSMC has claimed its 3nm technology will be the world’s most advanced technology in 2022. When they start production in the second half of 2022. They will Rely on the proven FinFET transistor architecture for the best performance, power efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This 3nm technology will offer up to 15% speed gain and consume up to 30% less power than 5nm technology. TSMC also claim to provide up to 70% logic density gain.

As we know, Apple’s 14 chip is currently working in the iPhone 12 series and iPad Air, based on the 5nm process. Well, M1 Apple Silicon chip also shares the same 5nm architecture.
