Recently The Sindh Police has launched its high-tech gadget and app “Talaash” for prompt and real-time detection of criminals and escapee, especially those involved in street crimes in Karachi, Sindh.
Sindh Police is making it easier to catch criminals with the launch of the Talaash gadget & app. It will assist investigation teams at different police departments by allowing easy access to criminal records in large databases.
The launch took place at the Central Police Office (CPO) and it was attended by DIG IT Capt (retd.) Pervez Ahmed Chandio, project head PDIT Tabassum Abbasi, and other officials. Ghulam Nabi Memon, the head of the Sindh Police, was the chief guest at this event.
According to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Parvez Ahmed Chandio said the new Talaash app had the data of 1.5 million criminals in the province, It is easy to carry and would be deployed at roadside checkpoints for identification of any criminal. The gadget as well as app would also be used for the detection of fake vehicle registration plates and driving licenses.
Talaash app will include a dashboard that will let you pick between suspect verification, biometric crime record verification, HRMIS verification, NADRA verification, and NADRA 1:N. Users of HRMIS will be able to check the records of police officers who have been questioned by checking or patrolling staff at different locations in the province.
The Talaash device would use the biometric system for detection of the suspects through the database of the NADRA and also be helpful to identify a dead body through fingerprints.
