Islamabad: The Minister of Information technology, Fawad Chaudhary announced that Pakistan will be entering into the area of esports for the first time.

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting introduces E-PAK biggest Esports initiative of Pakistan starting with Free Fire Pakistan league. Free Fire League is the first national e-sports initiative in Pakistan announced by Fawad Chaudhary. The Garena and Bigo will sponsor of this tournament. So for this purpose, the Ministry has signed a letter of understanding with Garena and Bigo.

Free Fire is a Singaporean game, developed by Garena. Fawad Chaudhary announced a prize of Rs 10 million for the winning contender. And the winner will be able to compete in a worldwide tournament.

On this occasion Fawad Chaudhary tweeted “Children, as young as 12-years-old, who are interested in e-sports have a chance to become millionaires through e-sports.”

Similarly, he added “This is a great opportunity for the youth of Pakistan, and it will give the e-sports industry a boost, while other gaming companies will also be able to enter the market.”

“Special thanks to Fawad and Ministry of Information Pakistan for setting up this great opportunity for Bigo, Garena, and especially for the e-sports’ industry,” he said on the occasion.
